Lumines: Puzzle Fusion - Released on STEAM

Lumines: Puzzle Fusion

Lumines: Puzzle Fusion was just released on the PC through STEAM a few days ago and I’m really considering purchasing it. Its regular price is $9.95, but right now there’s a sale going on, pushing down the price by a whooping $1 (Making it $8.95). What a deal, right? Anyways, it’s not the price that’s holding me back from buying this, but the fact that there’s another version of Lumines on sale for $14.95 ($13.45 while its on sale), called “Lumines Advance Pack“. According to STEAM it contains:

  • 21 skins + 2 bonus skins for Challenge Mode
  • 60 mind-bending puzzles to solve in Puzzle Mode
  • 35 stages of quick-thinking and fast-moving in Mission Mode

So wait, I have to pay almost double the price of the original game to get some graphical skins and a few extra puzzles? It sounds like to me that Q Entertainment is doing the same thing as they did on Xbox Live!, where they let you buy the main game (Lumines Live!) for $15, then charged you additional money for some new skins (or levels) few days after. If you wanted the whole experience, you had to pay like $22.49 in the end, if I recall correctly.

I actually already have this game on Xbox Live!, but only the main $15 deal, so I’m not sure if I should purchase this port or not. It would be nice to be able to just double-click an icon on my desktop whenever I wanted to play some Lumines, instead of having to go through the trouble of connecting my Xbox 360 to my monitor and speakers (I don’t have an HDTV), then turning on the console, then waiting for it to load things up, and so on.
